\nAnnotation<\/strong>: The article deal with the archival data on the estate giving to Russian gentlemen and noblemen in the military camp of King Sigismund III near Smolensk. The issue is about how the estate giving to Muscovites was provided by the Chancellery of Great Chancellor of Lithuania Leo Sapieha and how possible was the dialogue of two bureaucratic traditions. A special issue is the case of noblemen Rzhevskies; their petitions to the \u201cCzar Wladyslaw\u201d and to Chancellor Sapieha were the most numerous.<\/p>\n

Continuity of the traditions of the ancient Orthodox church monody on the example of selected dogmatists of eight modal scales from Lavra and Suprasl Irmologions

\nAnnotation<\/strong>: In the article the author undertook attempts to prove that the two Orthodox church singing traditions contained in the 16th-century the Lavra Irmologion and the Suprasl Irmologion (1598-1601) by Bogdan Onisimowicz have common roots which are the traditions of singing of Kievan Rus. For this purpose the author compares selected the melodic formulas (popiewki, lica i fity) taken from selected hymns in honor of the Mother of God, the so-called dogmatists. The author attempts to prove the connection of the melodic of the Old Ruthenian church singing with the liturgical texts whose content it comments. The author points to the principle of \u201csimilarities\u201d eternally binding in the sacred art of the Middle Ages, where the creator does not rely on his own will, but harmonizes it with the divine rhythm of creation.<\/p>\n

The <\/strong>Challenges <\/strong>of caring for the wounded during the Crimean War as a factor in the formation of military-field surgery in Russia (by the letters of Nikolai Ivanovich Pirogov)

\nAnnotation<\/strong>: The negative results of the Crimean war prompted the government to make large-scale changes in all spheres of society. They also touched upon the field of medicine. The impetus was the views and activities of the famous Russian surgeon, thinker, teacher, public figure N. And. Pirogov during the defense of Sevastopol. H. And. Pirogov noted extremely bad organization of medical business: shortage of personnel (both doctors and Junior medical personnel), lack of tools and medicines, lack of equipped hospitals, inability to carry out normal transportation of patients. Activities carried out by the surgeon: the use of plaster bandages, training of sisters of the Holy cross community of sisters of mercy, the introduction of a new method of care for the wounded, which consists in the fact that they were subject to careful selection at the first dressing station; depending on the severity of injuries, one of them was subject to immediate surgery in the field, and with lighter wounds, evacuated inland for treatment in stationary military hospitals; led to a decrease in mortality and disability among soldiers and officers. Therefore, Pirogov is considered to be the founder of military field surgery.<\/p>\n

\nAnnotation<\/strong>: The article aims to increase knowledge about the opposition of some Greek Catholics from Southern Podlachia to compulsory joining them to the Orthodox Church in the 1870s. There was published a document presenting the basis for the Russian authorities to decide on displacing their leaders to the Kherson and Yekaterinoslav Governorates. Moreover, the list of 310 people transferred to these both Governorates from the Siedlce Governorate in the years 1875\u20131876, was provided.<\/p>\n

\nAnnotation: <\/strong>Samokvasov Dmitry Jakovlevitch [15 (27). 5. 1843, a farmstead near village Stakhorsiny, Novgorod-Seversky ujezd, Chernigovskaya province \u2014 5 (18). 8. 1911, Moscow], a Russian historian-lawjer, archeologist, archivist. Landmarks of S.\u2019s and career are connected not only with routine scientific and pedagogical activity of the university and academic spheres, but also with fruitful practical activity of a scientist aimed at discovering, preservation and popularization of material and documentary monuments of national history and culture. S. came from a languished family of nobility, went to Nowgorod-Severrskaya gymnasium, graduated from The St.Peterburg University, Department of Law, got his kandidat\u2019s (1868), master\u2019s (1873) and doctor\u2019s (1878) degrees of State Law. He became a professor of the History of Russian Law of the Warsaw (1873\u20131892) and later of the Moscow (1894\u20131911) Universities. In 1892\u20131911 S. occupied the positionof the manager of the Moscow archive of the Ministry of Justice. S. was an active member of a few scientific societies (including Russian Geographical and Moscow Archeological Societies, the Societies of the Enthusiasts of Natural Sciences, of Antropology and Ethnography of the Moscow University, of many provincial societies) and organization (including the Imperial Archeological commitee in St.Petersburg, Historical museum and Archeological institution in Moscow, several provincial scientific archive commitees). S. was a delegate of the III\u2013XIV All-Russia Archeological Congresses, participated in Antropological (Moscow, 1879) and World (Paris, 1878) exibitions. S. is an author of more than 200 published works.
\nAs a historian and lawyer <\/strong>S. studied etnogenesis of Slavdom, processes of origin and development of the Old Russian state and law, formation of selfdom and landocracy in Russia. He was one of the founders of inter-disciplinary approach in historical-legal science. In his recearch S. utilized not only chronicles and other written sources but also data of antropology, ethnography, linguistics which he for a considerable part assembled himself in expeditions. Thus, he revealed a relict form of a large peasant family in the province of Kursk which may be correlated with Old Russian verv <\/em>and Yugoslav zadruga<\/em>. He introduced into scientific use an important part of documentary data dealing with M.M.Speransky\u2019s administrative reform \u2014 arranged for codifying records of the usual law of the native tribes and nationalities of Siberia and the Far East. S.\u2019s summarizing \u201cCourse of Russian Law\u201d shared some shortcomings of the humanities of that time but neverteless is remarkable for its encyclopedic knowledge of the subject and original reconstructions of disputable events of encient and medieval history.
\nAs an archeologist<\/strong> S. carried out considerable excavations of burial-mounds, settlements and other objects in various regions of Ukraine, Caucasus, Center of Chernozem Zone, suburbs of Moscow, Poland and Italy. S. iniciated general calculation and map making of archeological monument all over the European part of Russi (questionnaire of 1873). S. participated in compling the first Russian official instructions in carrying out archeological works. S. discovered many antiquities of different times and peoples. The most famous among them are prince\u2019s (knijazhesky), <\/em>lords (bojarsky)<\/em> and combatants\u2019 (druzhinnie)<\/em> burial-mounds of X-th century \u2014 Black Grave (Chernja Mogila), Gulbische <\/em>and other. <\/em>There were found sets of armaments, attributes of religious cult, tools, household articles which belonged to the East Slavs of the Sever\u2019s Association. These objects became stadards of the Old Russian culture in transition from paganism to Christianity, revealed its originality and extensive international relations. On the basis of archeological data S. undertook attempts to reconstruct \u201cpagan system of Slavic-Russian law\u201d, to verify the role of Varangians in the political history of Kiev Russia, to outline the borders of the lands (knjazhenie, volost)<\/em> of East Slavic princes, which were shaped on the basis of tribal system, and changed together with the development of the political system. S.\u2019s fundamental study of the Old Russian towns revealed the stages of their development, their communal structure and various (military, administrative, economical, ideological) functions. S. introduced an innovation and was the first who started to teach archeology among students and others who attended his popular lectures and laboratory classes. Some of S.\u2019s historical and juridical hypotheses were confirmed and verified, others with time were rejected by science. His incredibly rich collection of antiquities, which S. presented in 1892 to the Historical Museum in Moscow, and which since that time has been exhibited there, is of immutable value.
\nS.\u2019s contribution to archive science and practice<\/strong> is also very significant. In the middle of his life road he became the head of one of the largest in Russia repositories of ancient statements \u2014 The Moscow Archive of the Ministry of Justice. There were stored documents (over 2,5 millions of deeds) of supreme and local institutions of The Great Principality of Lithuania, The Moscow State of XIV\u2013XVII centuries and The Russian Empire of XVIII\u2013XIX centuries. Most of them were not inventoried, many were not even sorted out. S. and his collaborators effectively struggled against the chaos in national archive. They inventoried and introduced into scientific and reference use lots of historical and legal sources. S. discovered and published in two volumes \u201cArchive materials\u201d which made it possible to ascertain decisive stage of enslaving of peasant in Russia, \u2014 the introduction of so called \u201cpreserved years\u201d (zapovednyh let)<\/em> and abolition of Yuriev <\/em>day. Though S. met incomprehension and preconceived criticism of many of his colleagues, he was the first who approached formulating of essentially important concept of archive fund as a historically established aggregate of documents, he devised and applied method of fund inventory (stock with reference index) of archive materials, which proved to be effective. Without such an inventory materials remained unknown to researchers and were not protected fromplunderers and falsifiers. In the beginning of XX-th century S. put forward a project of a radical reform of the archives of the country the aim of which was their national centralization. S. applied the progressive model of examined its state from sociological point of view during the period of reforms. The state of flagrant \u201carchive discorder\u201d and mass destruction of \u201cdocumentary resources\u201d of Russian people\u201d which S. brought to light, demanded essential actions to be taken. Government offices and the scientific public enthusiastically discussed the urgent reform of archives. S. verified his project (obviously the best of all proposed ones) a number of times, but the authorities rejected it and preferred a palliative solution of the problem wich the help of semi-charitableprovincial committees. Many of S.\u2019s constructive suggestions were carried out only after the October Revolution. Some of them have much in common with the new, democratic law about the archives of The Russian Federation which stipulates, as S. insisted, abolition of monopolization of the storage and use of historical sources by different government departments. The name of scientist-patriot was given to the Kursk national museum of regional ethnografy, perpetuated by the obelisk in Chernigov on the top of the Black Grave (Chernja Mogila)<\/em> and by the monument in Novodevichje cemetery in Moscow.<\/p>\n

\nAnnotation<\/strong>: Basilian monastery in Lublin was founded in 1695 as a result of the adoption of the Union of Brest by Orthodox monks. Its headquarters was located at the edge of the Czwartek district on Ruska street. Due to the very low number of parishioners, the monks were engaged in the pastoral care of prisoners and soldiers. The necessary funds were obtained from leases: buildings, inns, squares and field lands. The final end to the religious community put the decision on dissolution in 1864. Issued by Alexander II.<\/p>\n

\nAnnotation<\/strong>: <\/strong>The article is a review of the results of research regarding priest Augustyn Jakubisiak, underwent in the archives of the Polish Library in Paris, that functions at the Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 historique et litt\u00e9raire polonaise. Moreover, I\u00a0discuss here actual research about life, work and heritage of this polish priest, philosopher and theologist. It turns out that Jakubisiak, during his lifetime, was recognized as an outstanding thinker (he was granted with the French Academy prize for his work about time and space), but not long after passing out, he got forgotten due to the socio-political situation. Given the richness and complexity of his work, let alone its influence on society and intelligentsia on that time, his thought is the one that requires some deep revision, especially in the field of interdisciplinary research.<\/p>\n

\nAnnotation:<\/strong> At the moment of introducing martial law in Poland, local structures of communist party were in the state of internal decay due to the lack of ideals, indiscipline, contradictions and conflicts. Therefore it provided a perfect opportunity to consolidate the party and redress the situation within it. The plan of its repair had been worked out earlier, long before introducing the martial law. On December 10, 1981, the secret instruction on how to manage the party during martial law was directed to the PZPR\u2019s local structures. The leading instrument included in the instruction was directive management<\/em>, which involved an absolute obedience to the orders of higher courts. Additionally, a number of other solutions were provided to restore discipline within the party. The presented documents show actions aiming at repairing the situation within the communist party in the Bia\u0142a Podlaska Voivodeship and their results over the period from December 1981 to March 1982.<\/p>\n

\nAnnotation<\/strong>: This article explores the legal and economic situation which arose several years ago, has been developing for this time and in which sworn translators and interpreters are placed today. Description of these circumstances is based not only on currently binding documents but also on several out-of-date papers. The author of this article emphasizes the fact that Polish Ministry of Justice (the administration of justice) and the Ministry of Finance should give more attention to the subject specialists and the problems they are confronted with in their careers. In particular, the scholar focuses on sworn translators and interpreters of Russian, Ukrainian and Belarussian languages by providing details on problems they face on a daily basis when delivering sworn (certified) services not only to public bodies, e.g. ministry, judiciary, prosecutor\u2019s office, public administration, local government, etc., but also to business entities, e.g. companies, partnerships, translation offices, etc., and individual customers. Sworn translators and interpreters of other languages, indeed, also face a great number of problems this article explores. However, in the Polish legal system, west European languages seem to be paid closer attention than the east European ones.<\/p>\n
